Contractors sell their work at fixed prices, so every hour a crew waits comes out of their margin. One broken machine stops every crew behind it, and the repair invoice shows only a fraction of the cost. The rest lands in idle crews and higher bids on the next job.
Adam, our AI operator, runs equipment operations for the whole company’s profit. He prices every idle hour, picks the repair with the lowest total cost, audits every bill before it’s paid, reallocates idle machines to the jobs that need them, and tells the company which machines to buy, repair, or sell. Managers approve every cost and Adam handles the coordination in between.
In three months, Adam increased operating profit by $4.21M a year for a $500M electrical contracting customer: a 12% increase. Across customers, the time people spend coordinating each repair fell 93%, and equipment downtime fell 30%.
We crossed $2M ARR three months after our first invoice, with five enterprise customers and a five-person team. Customers pay annually upfront, so we’re cash-flow positive. Carma sells no parts, rentals, or machines, so Adam’s only incentive is our customer’s profit.
